You can now spend your Christmas holidays in Skyrim by completing a fully voiced, fan-made side quest called The Gift of Saturalia.

If you’re a fan of The Elder Scrolls series, you’re probably familiar with Saturalia, the in-game equivalent of Christmas. Much like the festivities in our real world, the residents of Skyrim engage in wearing traditional attire, decorating trees, and exchanging presents during this joyous season. However, not everyone in the Skyrim realm shares the same festive spirit, and that’s precisely what the fan-made quest, “The Gift of Saturalia,” revolves around.

Crafted by modder JaySerpa (credits to VG24/7), this side quest aims to celebrate both our world’s holiday season and that of Skyrim’s. It involves collaborating with a seemingly suspicious bearded trader (who isn’t fooling anyone, really) to assist those who might be going through a tough time. By doing so, you’ll be “spreading the spirit of Saturalia across the province” and immersing yourself in the festive atmosphere.

Adding to its appeal, this quest is fully voiced. JaySerpa emphasizes that the quest sheds light on the often overlooked individuals in Skyrim, granting them new lines of fully voiced dialogue. Twitch streamers LIZZ and Urgie have contributed their voices to Diane the Bard and Niklas the Trader, respectively, while other characters’ dialogue has been skillfully compiled from existing voice lines—no artificial intelligence involved, just good old-fashioned creativity.

The quest itself is substantial, taking approximately one to two hours to complete. What sets it apart is its lasting impact on the game world. JaySerpa explains that finishing the quest allows players to witness the tangible results of their efforts. Moreover, there are additional scenes and dialogues post-completion, showcasing how the player’s benevolent actions have positively influenced each character’s life.

For those interested, the quest can be downloaded via Nexus Mods, requiring no additional add-ons besides the base game. If you’re in a festive mood, the Saturalia Holiday Pack from the Creation Club is available for download, and the mod seamlessly incorporates it, although it’s not a mandatory requirement. To sweeten the deal, JaySerpa has compiled a trailer showcasing snippets of the voice acting and teasing the adventures that await you in the quest.
