If you’re struggling in Baldur’s Gate 3, follow this player’s lead, who managed to get an Armor Class so high they basically became invincible.

Navigating Baldur’s Gate 3 can be quite challenging for newcomers to the genre due to its multitude of elements to juggle, including Advantage, Status Effects, Spell Slots, and more. Managing your Armor Class is particularly crucial, as it determines whether enemies hit or miss when they roll. If your Armor Class is too low, you’ll suffer from frequent attacks and rarely evade them.

Conversely, having an exceptionally high Armor Class can render you nearly invulnerable. A Reddit user named Yervax discovered this by maximizing their character’s Armor Class to an impressive 31, making themselves practically impervious to attacks.

Yervax shared an image of their character and detailed the gear contributing to their high Armor Class. They began with the Armor of Agility, which added their full Dexterity modifier, resulting in a base Armor Class of 22. Additionally, they acquired Hope’s shield, seized after a battle against Raphael, boosting their Armor Class to 26.

Yervax achieved the remaining points for their massive Armor Class through various magical items, including the Ring of Protection, Cloak of Protection, Evasive Shoes, Troubadour’s Wonder, and Warding Bond. Each item contributed a single point, culminating in the impressive total of 31. Yervax humorously noted that if you’re a random grunt in Baldur’s Gate 3 facing them, jumping off a cliff might be a more reasonable option.

Despite the claim of being “unhittable,” Yervax acknowledged occasional vulnerabilities to critical rolls and saving throws. Other players suggested enhancing invulnerability by swapping the Cloak of Protection for the Cloak of Displacement, causing all attacks against the character to have disadvantage.

For those averse to getting their armor dirty, an alternative strategy involves summoning hordes of spiders to handle combat. Another player successfully created a party comprising 12 massive arachnids, showcasing different approaches to navigating the challenges of Baldur’s Gate 3.
