A Baldur’s Gate 3 player saved every explosive they came across on their adventure just to use them all in one final fight.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Offers Ingenious Ways to Conquer Its Toughest Challenges
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a game that rewards players who think outside the box and exhibit determination when confronting its most formidable foes. We’ve witnessed gamers transforming formidable bosses into harmless cats, concealing their inventory with flowers, staging sneak attacks using unconventional methods, and vanishing from view with invisibility. While these feats demand a fair amount of preparation, Reddit user MissQueeney took an entirely different route when dealing with the final boss.
Rather than relying on cunning or subtlety, MissQueeney opted for a more explosive approach. They meticulously collected every explosive item throughout their Baldur’s Gate 3 adventure and unleashed them all during the climactic showdown.
The result was a colossal explosion that sent their high-end gaming PC’s performance plummeting to a mere 5 frames per second for nearly half a minute. The screen was awash with numbers, chaotic effects, flames, and, one can only imagine, the terrified cries of anything caught in the blast. Spoiler alert: amid all the fiery chaos, discerning what’s happening becomes quite the challenge.
So, how did MissQueeney pull off this audacious stunt? In a Reddit post, they explained their elaborate strategy. Over countless hours leading up to Baldur’s Gate 3’s grand finale, they diligently stockpiled explosives, stashing them away in a chest back at their campsite. When the time was right, they loaded up on all these explosives and embarked on their journey to the game’s ultimate confrontation.
This journey was particularly challenging as they were playing solo, unable to jump or use ladders due to being massively overburdened. After triggering the final battle, they methodically encircled the boss with barrels and other explosive items. Without wasting a turn, they flew to a safe distance and ignited the fiery mayhem with a well-aimed fireball.
MissQueeney elaborated further in the Reddit post, underscoring the magnitude of the explosion. They used an astonishing 14,000 pounds of explosives, including gunpowder barrels, firewine, fireworks, molotovs, and a touch of poison for good measure. The explosion was so extensive that it extended into the victory cutscene, leaving an indelible mark on the game.
In other Baldur’s Gate 3 news, a recent panel revealed that Neil Newbon, the actor behind Astarion, believed most players would instinctively choose to eliminate the charismatic vampire upon first encountering him. He also expressed doubts about Astarion having a substantial role in the story due to his vampiric inclinations.
