An alleged Diablo 4 survey is asking players about add-ons ranging up to $100 that include early access to gear and companions.

Bellular News, a prominent YouTuber, asserts that they have received a confidential survey from Blizzard regarding Diablo 4. The survey reportedly queries players about potential add-ons priced between $49.99 and $99.99, encompassing a variety of features such as hero skins, unique mounts, seasonal Platinum currency, early access, battle passes, and companions.

According to reports from TryHardGuides and GameStar, the survey outlines four optional costs – $69.99, $49.99, $79.99, and $99.99. Notably, these tiers go beyond cosmetic upgrades, including functional items and perks.

Two of the tiers include extra stash tabs, while others feature a companion that joins you in the game, offering conveniences and utility, such as access to your stash or the ability to pick up gold. In essence, players would be investing in improvements to their gaming experience.

Moreover, the alleged survey suggests that the $50 and $100 tiers would grant “early access to a functional item,” described as a “Unique piece of gear or a Legendary aspect before it’s released during the expansion.” The timing of this early access remains unclear, leaving fans uncertain whether it would be granted a year, a season, or a week before the official launch. Nevertheless, the concept of paying for exclusive gear has generated discontent among Diablo 4 enthusiasts.

It’s crucial to note that since this information is derived from a survey, the proposed pricing and perks for each tier are purely conceptual and not guaranteed to be implemented in Diablo 4. If the survey is authentic, Blizzard is likely testing the waters to gauge player acceptance and identify potential controversies.

The idea of paying for in-game advantages beyond cosmetic enhancements has sparked criticism, as has the pricing structure. Additionally, the survey includes the base Diablo 4 game in each tier, raising questions about whether pricing would differ for existing owners.

A contentious aspect of the survey centers around the notion of paying for increased stash space. Diablo 4 fans have previously voiced concerns about stash limitations since the game’s launch. Despite fans expressing these concerns on social media, game director Joseph Piepiora addressed the issue, explaining that expanding stash space poses challenges due to significant memory overhead. While some hope for improved stash capacity through updates, the survey suggests the possibility of paid expansions in the future.
