Let’s all have a moment of silence, as Fortnite has made Snake as flat as a pancake.

Fortnite’s latest event has introduced iconic characters like Peter Griffin and Metal Gear’s legendary soldier, Snake, to the island for the first time. While most changes have been well-received, there’s been some controversy surrounding animation tweaks that led to a fan doxxing a developer. However, a specific feature has stirred discontent among Metal Gear fans—Snake’s distinctive derriere has once again been toned down.

Snake has sported his noteworthy wetsuit in various spinoff titles, proudly showcasing his rear since his debut in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Despite this, Snake’s posterior seems to undergo regular nerfing with each new appearance in games or movies. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate already had fans disappointed with the reduction of Snake’s assets, but Fortnite takes it a step further by seemingly making it disappear altogether.

Metal Gear enthusiasts are understandably dismayed at Snake’s lack of “cake,” joining other characters like Omni-Man, who also roam in snug suits without any notable posterior features. The intentional alteration to Snake’s behind is seen as particularly harsh, considering he didn’t have much to begin with after the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate days.

Fortunately, the remainder of Fortnite’s latest update remains faithful to its diverse cast, including the unconventional addition of Peter Griffin. Despite his oddly muscular appearance in Fortnite, developers have gone the extra mile to incorporate numerous absurd Family Guy references. This includes the Petercopter, a clip show Back Bling, and a Bird is the Word emote that can be used with any character.

Fans eagerly await the return of Snake’s well-endowed character model, which might occur sooner than expected in a new Metal Gear game. While there’s no confirmed release date for the Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater remake, recent cryptic tweets from voice actor David Hayter have fueled speculation that he may return to voice Old Snake in the rumored re-release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
