Capcom has confirmed that it won’t be long until we hear more about Monster Hunter Wilds.
Capcom has officially confirmed that the next update for Monster Hunter Wilds is set to be released later this summer, providing fans with a welcome distraction as they endure the anticipation leading up to the game’s 2025 launch.
Despite the significant impact Monster Hunter Rise had on series enthusiasts, the desire for a new installment on the scale of Monster Hunter World has been palpable among players for quite some time. Finally, after years of speculation and rumors, Capcom granted the wish of fans by unveiling Monster Hunter Wilds at The Game Awards last month.
While the announcement of a new Monster Hunter game was undoubtedly exciting, it came with a notable drawback – the release date for Wilds is scheduled for 2025. While the wait may not be excessively long from the time of the announcement, recent experiences with highly anticipated releases, such as those of GTA fans, have shown that the wait can feel considerably longer.
Initially, some fans speculated that information about Monster Hunter Wilds would be scarce until closer to the release date. However, a recent video message shared on the official Monster Hunter Twitter by series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto sheds light on what’s in store for the series in 2024.
Although the message primarily focuses on the series’ plans for the current year, Tsujimoto started by providing insights into Monster Hunter Wilds. Expressing gratitude for the positive reception to the announcement, he revealed that the team is diligently working on the game’s development, aiming for a 2025 release. However, Tsujimoto assured fans that the next announcement for the game is expected in the summer of 2024.
This means that fans only have to wait six more months to receive more details about the eagerly awaited sequel, significantly reducing the perceived length of the wait. Considering the timing aligns with summer, there is speculation that the next announcement may coincide with the Summer Game Fest. Additionally, given Capcom’s history of hosting showcases, there is a possibility that Monster Hunter Wilds may be featured in one of those presentations.
