Ermac is coming to Mortal Kombat 1 soon, and a datamine shows that he’ll cover his ugly mug with a mask.

Ermac has undergone a notable redesign in Mortal Kombat 1, departing from his previous iteration as one of the color-altered ninjas. His current appearance distinguishes him entirely from characters like Scorpion and Sub-Zero, more so than in previous games. However, despite this effort to redefine his look, many fans expressed dissatisfaction with his new appearance.

As Ermac is slated to become playable in the upcoming year, fans have discovered evidence of a new skin that addresses the concerns about his controversial face. This information, obtained through game data mining, suggests that one of Ermac’s skins will feature a mask, reminiscent of his appearance in the past.

At least two data miners have identified this skin within the game, adding credibility to the discovery. If implemented, this skin would provide Ermac with a traditional ninja mask, concealing a significant portion of his face and revealing only his distinctive, glowing green eyes.

Given the widespread criticism from Mortal Kombat enthusiasts regarding Ermac’s initial redesign, the prospect of a mask has generated positive reactions. Nevertheless, not all players are entirely pleased with the overall aesthetic of the outfit, citing an unusual color scheme that deviates from the character’s established look. Despite efforts to address concerns, Ermac continues to face criticism, with the community expressing discontent even during his unveiling as a DLC fighter.

However, it’s worth noting that adjustments could still be made before Ermac officially joins the roster. With his launch scheduled for Spring 2024, there remains ample time for potential edits. It’s important to mention that Ermac won’t be the concluding addition in the initial DLC wave; Takeda from Mortal Kombat X is set to join the roster in Summer 2024. The current release order is as follows: Peacemaker, Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda. This list excludes their accompanying Kameo fighters, who are expected to be introduced simultaneously.
